Who am I?

P.Tography is photography by Phil Cates.  I am a photographer located in beautiful Salmon Arm, British Columbia, Canada - happily serving all of the interior, (including the Shuswap and Okanagan), with ambition, class, and care. I specialize in wedding, family, & commercial photography.

I tend to burn the candle at both ends as an Architect by day, and a Photographer the rest of the time, so I have no shortage of things to keep me busy. I like to create. I enjoy the little details. When I’m not working, I love to spend time with my family, consisting of 4 lovely kids, 1 puppers, and a bodacious lady, who just so happens to be a photographer too!

I love people and conversation, so I will spend most of our time getting to know you and trying to make you laugh. I'm fascinated with the world around me and the people who live in it - everyone brings all sorts of unique talents, stories, and skills to the table. I love change *gasp*, adventure, and trying new things. Because of this, I will have no shortage of things to talk about with you. Oh, and did I mention that I will stop at absolutely nothing to make you laugh?

I can’t wait to meet you next!

My Pledge To You

P.Tography is a modern photography option for modern people.  In business. In presentation. In style.

I want to capture your love as purely as possible. I want to capture you and your families, celebrating your most special moments so that you always have something to remember. I want to capture your creations and products so that you can flourish.

And I’ll do it all, with a little bit of style.

My Inspiration

It is often said that if you want to know what a photographer cares about the most, just look at what they photograph.

I am inspired by love, people, and ideas. Having the opportunity to capture or design things in unique ways is what I love most about being a creative person. The world is filled with all sorts of beautiful things, moments, and ideas. What better way than to use the power of photography to frame it all?
